The one-day workshop was a part of the ONLINE SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME on “Seismic Design of Multistory Buildings: IS 1893-2016” (Sponsored By AICTE) for the faculties of the Civil Engineering department from JNTU Hyderabad affiliated engineering colleges. The Faculty Development Training Program was arranged from 4th – 12th October 2021, covering various aspects of the seismic design of multi-storied buildings.
The topic “Modelling of Building & Structures” was allotted to the bimgrafX team, and S Janani Mudaliar, our BIM & Digital Technology Engineer, represented us which was scheduled on 11th October 2021. We started our session with an introduction to BIM technology and the digital transformation of the AEC industry. It was focused on the modelling of structure elements, rebar detailing, scheduling, clash detection, quantity, and cost estimation for a brief understanding of how Revit & Navisworks software can play an effective role in the modelling of Buildings and Structures.
We also showcased a couple of our live projects in the workshop to better understand the building modelling concept using Navisworks software. Overall, it was a great and knowledgeable session for the bimgrafX team in introducing BIM (Building Information Modelling) concepts and the latest technologies in the AEC Industry to the faculty to share with the upcoming generation of students.
